Just hours after walking down the aisle, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? couple Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi received tragic news about the Georgia native’s mother’s health. The upcoming episode’s sneak peek discloses that her mother is “unresponsive.”

Since her boyfriend’s K-1 application was rejected, Angela had to travel to Nigeria to get married, meaning, the 54-year-old had to get married without her family around in a foreign land. She is understandably not too excited about that.

Although her friend Jojo is in Nigeria to support her, the presence of her mother and grandkids is irreplaceable. Even during the wedding planning, she was clearly engrossed by the thought that her family would not be present on her special day.

She feels sad and breaks down into tears a few times in the show. I’m getting married today. We’re getting ready to tie the knot here in Nigeria, but this is not how I envisioned it — I thought I would have my mom, my grandkids, my daughter to help me get ready. Michael, 31, tries to comfort her by saying they will have another wedding in the United States, but Angela reveals that her mother might not be able to make it till then. “My mom’s sick. How do we know momma can attend the wedding a year from now?” she said.

Before she left for Nigeria, Angela was worried about her mother’s declining health and wondered if that was the last time she was seeing her mother alive.
