Angela Deem’s doctor is drawing flak for going against the 90 Day Fiance star’s wishes. Viewers of TLC’s hit reality show are criticizing Dr. Michael K. Obeng for ignoring some of the reality star’s wishes while carrying out her latest plastic surgery procedures. Dr. Obeng reduced her breast size more than she agreed to.
Fans have deemed his action as a violation of Angela’s trust and body, and are urging others to think twice before going to Dr. Obeng, ScreenRant reported. Angela and her doctor were previously criticized for carrying on two major surgeries back-to-back, although it was risky for the 55-year-old American grandma to be under anesthesia for over four hours.
Some 90 Day Fiance fans who have had weight loss surgery and breast reduction/lift claim that surgeons do not usually recommend getting both surgeries in a day. They say patients are usually asked to wait for at least three months after weight loss surgery.
They can go through plastic surgery for their breasts only after the patient has maintained their weight for a few months. There is a possibility that the clinic offered some Angela discount, or even did both surgeries for free as long as she promoted it on 90 Day Fiance.
TLC was also criticized for airing potentially irresponsible content on TV. Angela is finally done with her surgeries, however, it looks like her breasts are gone.
When Angela shared her concern with Dr. Obeng, she learned that he removed 2 pounds from her breasts though she only agreed to 1 pound. He claims that they will look big once Angela is done losing weight, but that doesn’t mean he can ignore her wish and change his decision on the operation table.
A fan on Reddit described this as “a complete violation of her trust and body.”
“She should have a say in their size, whether he agrees with the opinion or not,” another fan pointed out. Some fans said it was the worst kind of advertising for the clinic.
