90 Day Fiance season 2 star Jason Hitch died of COVID-19 complications at 45. The U.S. Army veteran’s family claims that he had not taken the COVID-19 vaccine.
Jason Hitch’s sister, Shannon confirmed to TMZ that the Florida native passed away on Tuesday night. He was inside the ICU at a Florida hospital. According to the publication, Jason’s family was with him when he died, and they even held his hand in his final moments.
Shannon says that Jason did not take the COVID-19 vaccine. However, he did not have preexisting medical conditions. According to Hitch’s sister, he died from complications of COVID-19, as well as a few other factors.

“We are saddened to hear about the passing of Jason Hitch and send our sincere condolences to his family and friends at this time,” TLC revealed in a statement to PEOPLE on Wednesday.
Hitch married Cassia Taraves after she moved to America from Brazil. Hitch appeared in season two of 90 Day Fiance in 2014. The show featured the couple after the U.S. Army veteran traveled to Curitiba, Brazil in a bid to help Taraves move to Spring Hill, his hometown.
“Cassia getting bored here has been on my mind,” Hitch told the cameras in a confessional after the couple arrived in the U.S. He was worried that she may not like the local entertainment or the weather
“The next 90 days is gonna be tough,” Hitch said. “I hope that I can fix all that.”
The duo started a mail-order snack business called Gifting Fun after tying the knot. However, the pair separated in 2017. They filed for a divorce in 2018.
