Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have hired an A-lister bodyguard called Jimmy for their recent visit to New York. Jimmy has been taking care of singer Taylor Swift.
During the first major public appearance to the New York City last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were escorted by a-list security. The security officers were spotted at the Upper East Side hotel, where Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were staying during their trip.
The security officers were led by an ex-NYPD cop, Jimmy. The former NYPD officer has made several appearances while protecting Taylor Swift. Jimmy protects the “Shake It Off” singer by guarding her apartment from stalkers and other uninvited visitors, according to a report from Metro (via Daily Star).
A 2014 report from Rolling Stone suggests that there is only one entrance to the “Folklore” singer’s luxury apartment building. Jimmy is usually there guarding it. The former NYPD officer would unlock the door for visitors and residents.
The property also houses director Steven Soderbergh and actor Orlando Bloom. They usually bump into Jimmy while trying to enter their own properties.
“Most of the neighbours know what’s what by now,” Jimmy said at the time.
Meghan and Harry met a lot of influential figures during their trip to the 9/11 memorial and One World Trade Center on September 23. Aside from that, they visited a school in Harlem and ate at a soul food restaurant.
They even spoke at the Global Citizen concert on the weekend. They spoke about the availability of coronavirus vaccines for developing countries.
