Saudi Arabia’s popular King Abdulaziz Camel Festival started earlier this month. This event celebrates the most beautiful camels every year. However, it was reported by Saudi Press Agency that over 40 camels were disqualified due to botox injections and many other artificial touch-ups.
“The club is keen to halt all acts of tampering and deception in the beautification of camels,” the SPA report said, adding organizers would “impose strict penalties on manipulators.”
Breeders of these camels are competing for the cash prize of $66 million.
This is not the first time when contestants are disqualified. Previously, 12 contestants were disqualified after their breeders used Botox to make the camel look more appealing.
