90 Day Fiance star Miona is sparing no effort in a bid to put the Blackfishing scandal to rest. Now, she has even revealed her ethnicity. 

Taking to her Instagram account, Miona from 90 Day Fiance shared an emotional post about her ethnicity. This comes after a backlash she received for allegedly blackfishing.

Jibri Bell’s 23-year-old partner has been catching flak for practicing blackfishing. Now, Miona has finally revealed her ethnicity, noting that she hails from Nis, Serbia.

Jibri and Miona met when the frontman of the band Black Serbs was on one of his usual tours to her country. During their romantic Thai getaway, Miona said yes to his proposal.

Miona wanted to work in Los Angeles after moving to the United States. However, Jibri dashed her hopes of working in LA by moving to South Dakota even before her K-1 visa arrived, as per a report by ScreenRant.

Aside from this, Jibri’s mom Mahala did not approve of Miona’s clothes in the 90 Day Fiancé season 9 premiere episode. Notably, Mahala felt her future daughter-in-law was practically naked on social media.

Miona was allegedly dressing in a certain way that gains sexual attention, making the matriarch uncomfortable. However, Jibri defended her saying that those pictures are a mere part of her social media persona.

However, 90 Day Fiance viewers aren’t bothered by Miona’s clothes. Some hawk-eyed viewers are comparing her photos from years ago to her recent pictures. They found noticeable differences in her skin tone, lips, and hair.

Miona Acknowledges Blackfishing Criticism

Miona came under fire from fans, who accused her of blackfishing. For those who are unaware, blackfishing alludes to a controversial practice wherein a person changes how they appear to present themselves as Black.

However, Miona has announced that she is a proud Serbian in response to her critics. In her latest IG post, she declares that she loves her country and people, and was born and raised there.

“I thought there is no need to clarify this because in my country we don’t nonchalantly abuse other people without knowing anything about them,” she wrote in the post.

Furthermore, she clarified that aside from Serbian genes, she has “both Mexican and Middle Eastern background” as per a DNA test. 

“But I will always represent myself as Serbian because that’s my culture,” Miona added. “My parents survived a couple of wars on Yugoslavian soil! So don’t even dare to think you know me because you saw me on reality TV for 3 minutes,” she added.

She even shared a photo of the Traditional hairstyles from the Pomak village of Startsevo in the Smolyan region of Bulgaria. She claims that she learned to braid her hair from her 87-year-old grandma. Moreover, her dad helped her perfect it.

“My people were always beautiful!!!!!” she captioned an earlier post showing a Serbian woman with a hairstyle called the “vitice.” In the meantime, Jibri has revealed that Miona is getting death threats, and has urged viewers to stop the hate towards her.
