Mysuru: “I had promised my Guru and mentor, late B.V. Karanth, that I would achieve something and later come back to theater and I have kept up my promise today,” said multi-lingual powerhouse actor Prakash Raj. He was the chief guest for the evening of inaugural function, Bahuroopi at Rangayana.
Further unrolling his thoughts, Prakash Raj said “After training at National School of Drama, Delhi, B.V. Karanth came to Mysuru and was instrumental in establishing Rangayana. He had invited me too, though I was very young then, but I had denied as I had other aspirations and goals but I had assured that I would come back to theatre.”
Prakash Raj announced that he, alongside theatrists B. Suresh and Mandya Ramesh, had visualized to build “Rangadathittu” in city to advance theater. He reviewed his relationship with city and communicated his yearning to settle down in city and appreciate the calm and charming vibe. Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree announced that the legislature would give a trust of Rs. 50 lakh for Bahuroopi from one year from now which has been Rs. 30 lakh so far throughout the previous 12 years.
