Daniel Cormier isn’t done competing entirely, despite hanging up his gloves after losing a decision to Stipe Miocic last week.

The former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight and light heavyweight champion are willing to show up his skills and mark his foray into the professional wrestling realm, and make his debut in the WWE, even if it’s just for a single appearance.

Cormier deemed a potential stint in the WWE as a vacation than retirement for him, during an interview with Sports Illustrated. He opened up about his wish to compete at a Royal Rumble.

“I’d love a Royal Rumble moment where I throw a dude into the ropes and I clothesline his ass over the top, or I dropkick somebody over the top rope,” Cormier says. “And I’ll take my bump and get thrown out.

“Let me chase somebody down, clothesline him with a Bradshaw-Layfield clothesline from hell and eliminate somebody from the Royal Rumble, then throw me over the top. Pro wrestling? I’m all in.”

Cormier has also admitted that he would want to do commentary for WWE as he already serves as an MMA (mixed martial arts) commentator. It is also worth noting that he trains with Cain Velasquez, who is no stranger to making WWE appearances.

WWE has also confirmed that it is interested in bringing Cormier in, especially now that he has retired from MMA action. FOX has also shown interest in bringing the 41-year-old mixed martial artist to the SmackDown announce team.

SI noted that his appearance in the impending Royal Rumble Match would make a lot of sense for WWE. The company had talks with Cormier last year, but nothing came of it. He was even offered a spot in the WWE Backstage before the show was nixed by FS1.

While nothing is set in stone yet, it would be interesting to see Cormier compete inside the four-sided ring.
