90 Day Fiance: Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi made their first appearance in season 2 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days and since that time, they have been a favorite couple of numerous viewers.
Featuring a myriad of memorable moments, their relationship spruced up during Angela’s first trip to Nigeria. After she proposes, Michael decides to follow suit and propose her.
Although Angela and Michael have a connection, their relationship is plagued with a lot of drama between them, which makes for the entertaining television, including Angela’s first visit to Michael was nothing short of eventful.
In episode 9 of season 2, Angela and Michael go to a restaurant and talk about how their lives are going to be in the United States together. “I haven’t made up my mind to marry Michael at this point because I have had dishonesty from the start of our relationship,” Angela told the cameras at the time.
“It just took the feeling away. Even though I’ve forgiven Michael, if we’re having problems now, what’s going to happen when we get married?” she added. Angela asks Michael to tell her things that she doesn’t like, and he replies, “you don’t like lying. And also cheats.”
“The bottom line is I live a boring life, Michael,” Angela tells him. “My neighborhood is nothing like your neighborhood. I live in the country. Nothing’s rushed but me going to work. That’s rushed. Getting the kids ready, getting Mama done. It’s gonna be boring Michael,” she added.
Michael, on the other hand, tells the cameras that he thinks they will end up arguing a lot. If I move to the States with Angela, it’s quite different from here in Nigeria,” he told producers. “I’m not sure yet, but I think we’re gonna argue ‘cause of the differences. But, she makes me feel so special and makes me feel like a real man.”
Moreover, he raises concerns about being able to relate to her family. “But trust, me, I know what I’m putting myself into,” he assures Angela, adding “and I’m ready for it. I’m so ready for it.”
“Either way, if I say no, I’m scared I let a good man go. And if I say yes, I let somebody that don’t love me come into my life,” Angela says, noting that she is afraid of making the wrong choice. Michael tells her that he knows what she has gone through, and urges her to believe in him.
“I love you. And I know you love me. And I can see it in your eyes,” Angela says after doubting her decision to trust Michael. Angela then pulls something out of her shirt and Michael asks what it is.
“That’s the American flag Michael,” she replies. “It means you’re going to America.”
There’s a ring for Michael inside the small American flag. He smiles and goes over to Angela to embrace her. Angela warns him saying, “don’t f*** it up.” Putting the ring on Michael’s finger, Angela tells him that they’re engaged now.
“You don’t know how happy I am,” Michael tells her. Michael goes on to reveal that he has something for Angela as he pulls out a ring from his pocket. He then gets down on one knee, and asks her if she’ll be his “woman.”
Angela laughs, holding his face in her hands and tells him to get up. Michael says he wanted to surprise her, and puts the ring on her finger. The couple has now proposed to each other, and are officially engaged. This beautiful moment leads to them tying the wedding knot in Nigeria.
