Sunday’s episode of 90 Day: The Single Life saw Colt Johnson getting down on one knee to propose to Vanessa Guerra.
The 35-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada, resident, and Vanessa were enjoying a romantic getaway at Bear Lake, California. Colt felt it would be an ideal spot to pop the question.
“My hands are shaking,” Colt said as he got the ring out of his car.
“We’ve only been dating officially for about a month, but I want something that matters. I want something that will be forever. So, I’m going to ask her to marry me,” Colt explained in a confessional.

“I’m nervous because Vanessa doesn’t trust me … It’s now or never. I feel like what I’m doing is right, but at the same time, I’m afraid that Vanessa is going to say no.”
However, Vanessa appeared understandably hesitant to accept considering all that she and Colt have been through. “We have problems … and this is the time for you to ask?” she asked.
“We can work through them and communicate and face any challenges, honestly.”
Vanessa said she wasn’t expecting the proposal to be this soon, and she did not know how to respond. “I refuse to go through a divorce again. I don’t want to do it,” she said about her own past heartbreak, InTouch reported.
“I want to marry you someday, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to.”

Vanessa told Colt she wants the longer engagement to give him time to show he is consistent. Noting that she is worth it, Colt agreed.
Last week, Colt said the strong feelings they have towards each other encouraged him to take the action. “She cried when she was talking about me and how much she loves being with me,” he said.
“How could I not ask her to marry me? I’m going to propose to Vanessa. I know it’s crazy. I know it’s impulsive, but I have to follow my heart.”
Colt began dating Vanessa after his split from ex-girlfriend Jess Caroline. He proposed to Vanessa in Nov. 2020, but viewers got to witness the moment in the recently aired episode.
Colt was previously married to Larissa Dos Santos Lima for seven months. They finalized their divorce in Apr. 2019. New episode of 90 Day: The Single Life airs Sundays on discovery+.
