Evergreen Heartthrob Rishi Kapoor Passes Away At 67 After A Long Battle With Cancer

Known for his unforgettable work in films like Chandni and Bobby, Rishi Kapoor was undergoing treatment for cancer. The veteran actor returned to Mumbai in 2019.

On Apr. 30, the beloved Bobby star died in a hospital in Mumbai at the age of 67. He was in New York last year, fighting a long battle with cancer. On Apr. 29, his brother Randhir Kapoor told news agency PTI that the actor was rushed to the hospital.

“He is in the hospital. He is suffering from cancer and he has some breathing problems, so he has been admitted to the hospital. He is stable now,” Randhir Kapoor told PTI.

Rishi Kapoor was a part of a film dynasty that spans several generations. His father, Raj Kapoor, was one of India’s most revered filmmakers and actors. This is the film industry’s second loss in a short period – colon infection claimed Irrfan Khan’s life yesterday.

Rishi Kapoor’s co-star and longtime friend Amitabh Bachchan took to his Twitter handle to express shock. He wrote, “He’s gone. Rishi Kapoor, gone, just passed away. I am destroyed.”

We at WittyScoop are equally saddened by the passing away of Rishi Kapoor, a versatile actor who won millions of hearts with his charm. We express our profound condolences to his friends and friends.
