On his way back to Madison Square Garden on September 7. Harry Styles joked he went to Venice to spit on Chris Pine.
The word on the street is that Harry Styles spat on Chris Pine during the Don’t Worry Darling premiere at Venice Film Festival.
“This is our tenth show at Madison Square Garden. It’s wonderful, wonderful, wonderful to be back in New York. I just popped very quickly to Venice to spit on Chris Pine,” Styles says jokingly in a video captured by fans. “But fret not, we’re back!”

Don’t Worry Darling has been floating around the rumor mill for quite some time now. A video clip showing Styles spitting on Pine as he takes a seat at the premiere has gone viral.

However, this act wasn’t clearly visible in the recordings. Moreover, representatives for Pine have disputed the footage.
“This is a ridiculous story — a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation,” Pine’s rep said in a statement to Variety. “Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine. There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.”
A Venice Film Festival source told Variety that there was no tension around Styles and Pine during the premiere. Styles plays the male lead opposite Florence Pugh in the film directed by Olivia Wilde.
However, Pugh did not make an appearance at the festival’s press conference for the movie. She’s also unlikely to attend the Q&A in New York.
Meanwhile, Styles is set to finish his 15-night residency at Madison Square Garden on September 21.
