OnePlus will be holding the Nord 2 5G, OnePlus Buds Pro launch event in India today, July 22. Much to the delight of the fans of the OnePlus Nord series, the Chinese smartphone maker will take the wraps off the Nord 2 5G and OnePlus Buds Pro at 7:30 PM IST during a live virtual event.
The tech company will be streaming the OnePlus Nord launch event live through the official OnePlus India YouTube channel., OnePlus India website, as well as other social media platforms. Taking to its Twitter account, OnePlus India revealed some key specs of the Nord 2 earlier this month.
“Nord 2 comes with a 6.43-inch 90 Hz Fluid AMOLED display that swipes so smooth you’ll think your fingers are dancing ballet. And it’s HDR 10+ certified,” the company tweeted.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau also confirmed that the smartphone will be launched on July 22 in the country. The Nord 2 is expected to not just meet, but surpass the expectations of the Nord fans. The original Nord continues to garner popularity among consumers even today.
The company teamed up with MediaTek for Dimensity 1200-AI, which will be powering the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 5G smartphone. The Dimensity 1200-AI moniker accentuates the AI capabilities of the chipset and separates it from the standard Dimensity 1200.
The Nord 2 5G will boast an impressive array of AI-enabled advancements such as AI-assisted photography, display enhancements for superior user experience, and improved response times for an unparalleled mobile gaming experience, ZeeBiz reported. Lau describes the upcoming handset as a comprehensive upgrade from the original Nord.

Moreover, the MediaTek chipset powering the Nord 2 will be a customized version by the company. It will be tweaked to offer a better response during gaming and a better photography experience. The AI hardware will support DOL-HDR, enabling the device to capture several exposures at the same time to minimize ghosting.
OnePlus has already confirmed that the Buds Pro will launch alongside the Nord 2 on July 22 via a tweet. “If these Buds were any more professional, they’d be wearing a necktie. Stay tuned for the OnePlus Nord: Part Deux Launch Event on July 22, 7:30 pm for a 2-in-1 product launch, featuring the OnePlus Nord 2 5G and OnePlus Buds Pro,” the company wrote on the micro-blogging site.
