Ranbir Kapoor upcoming movie: Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga narrated the script to Mahesh Babu who was skeptical about the script because of the dark shades of his character.

The director has been at the receiving end of criticism because of his idea of love and its portrayal on-screen. But the fact that Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh is a double hit, the director is in demand and many A-listers wish to work with him.

Sandeep has turned his focus towards Bollywood completely for directing a crime-thriller in Hindi titled Devil. Ranbir Kapoor is on board for the project, according to the reports.

The director initially wanted to cast Tollywood (Telugu Cinema) superstar Mahesh Babu but the actor was not sure about playing a character with dark shades. On the other hand, Ranbir has liked the character of Devil and is keen to play the dark shade character on-screen.

“Sandeep Vanga was very keen to work with Mahesh Babu, and Mahesh was interested as well. But after Vanga narrated Devil to the actor, Mahesh found the subject too dark for his taste and for his audience’s tastes,” according to Deccan Chronicle’s report.

Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy with his upcoming movie Brahmastra which is directed by Ayan Mukerji. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role. Both movies are supposed to be released in the year 2020.
