‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ Actress Vaibhavi Upadhyay Dies At 32

“Sarabhai vs Sarabhai” famed actress Vaibhavi Upadhyay died at the age of 32 in North India in a car accident on Tuesday.

The news was shared by the show’s producer JD Matheja via Instagram. “Life is so unpredictable. A very fine actress, dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as ‘Jasmine’ of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away,” he wrote.

He continued, “She met with an accident in the north. The family will bring her to Mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for the last rites. RIP Vaibhavi.”

Actor Deven Bhojani, who played Dushyant Painter’s character in the show, shared a tribute on Wednesday via Twitter.

“Shocking!” he wrote alongside a photo of the actress. “A very fine actress and a dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as “ Jasmine “ of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in north a few hours back. Rest in peace Vaibhavi.”

“Sarabhai vs Sarabhai” is an Indian television sitcom that aired from 2004 to 2006. Jamnadas Majethia and Aatish Kapadia created the show and Hats Off Productions produced it. The show gained immense popularity and has since become a cult classic in the Indian television industry.

The show was praised for its witty writing, well-defined characters, and stellar performances by the cast. It presented a satirical take on Indian society, blending comedy with social commentary. Despite its popularity and critical acclaim, the show ended after the completion of its first season in 2006.
